2018 Gaming Awards Winners Announced in Las Vegas

All the who's who of the gaming world recently convened at the prestigious Sands Expo Convention Center in Las Vegas. They all had one thought in mind: Who will walk away with the Gaming Awards this year?

2018 saw the fifth annual Global Gaming Awards ceremony. It’s only fair that we reward the hard working role players that supply joy to players across the globe. The event was also the start to the impressive G2E (Global Gaming Expo). This ran for a few days afterwards.

The Industry’s Best Came Together and Celebrated a Few Outstanding Performers.

But who determines which individuals and companies will walk away with the prizes? This event was the culmination of almost a year’s work. Nominations were accepted as far back as January—yes, you can nominate yourself as well for next year’s awards. Then, a total of 70 judges voted in August. These votes determined the winners that were celebrated at the GGA on 8 October. To applaud them, a crowd of 700 industry professionals took their seats for a luncheon ceremony at the Sands Center.

To make such an impressive event successful, you need support. You only need to look at the list of sponsors to realize the importance of the event on the gaming calendar. Firstly you’ll see BetConstruct as the Lead Partner. Category sponsors included IGT, Asia Live Tech, FSB Tech and many more.

But let’s get to the winners.

There’s no question that SG Digital’s crew members walked away with the broadest smiles. Not only did they win the Digital Industry Supplier category. The judges also awarded them the Digital Product prize. Another big winner was Aristocrat. Its Lightning Link game won Land-Based Product of the year. Then, by choosing the Game of Thrones theme it also picked up Slot of the Year..

The gaming awards also show you who deserves respect in the industry for long term, quality performance. Scientific Games won a prize for Land-Based Industry Supplier. However, it’s even more notable that this is the third time they get this award. One can only admire their commitment to developing this industry. This time it's thanks to their partnership with Caesars Entertainment.

The creative geniuses at Evolution Gaming received a prize for Product Innovation (for Evolution Lightning Roulette). The audience applauded GeoComply for its actions to promote safety and responsibility. This brand walked away with the Responsible Business trophy, as it did two years ago.

This gaming awards ceremony not only celebrates, but inspires. Who knows what we’ll see in London at the 2019 awards? Remember to nominate yourself if you want to be up on stage this time.
