Bingo traces back to 1530, to an Italian Lottery Game called “Lo Giuco del Lotta D’Italia” which is still played. The Bingo Game made its way to France in the late 1770s and became “Le Lotto”. It later became popular in Germany in the 1800s. Once it migrated to the United States in 1929, it was called “beano”. The name changed after someone accidentally yelled “Bingo” instead of “Beano” during a Game.
