David Beckham to Represent Las Vegas Sands in Asia

David Beckham, former captain of the England football team, signed a contract to help promote Las Vegas Sands’ casinos in Singapore and Macau.

Sands' president and chief operating officer, Michael Leven, announced that Beckham would help brand Sands Casinos "as we aggressively explore opportunities to further expand our presence in Asia".

In November, Beckham posed for pictures with a group of 100 children in front of Las Vegas Sands’ Venetian Casino and Resort. The children were chosen from different community groups such as the Macau Special Olympics and the Association of Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers of Macau. Beckham also posed for photos at a similar event over the summer at a Sands casino in Singapore.

Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, Sands Casinos represent the largest casino operator in Macau. Currently, Las Vegas Sands owns four casinos in Macau, with the Venetian Macau representing the largest. The company hopes that having David Beckham promote in Asia will attract the attention of Mainland China, where casinos are illegal and football is immensely popular.
