NetEnt Breaks into Canadian Gambling Market

NetEnt is working on expanding its regulated markets and has recently found success in Canada. The developer and supplier of online gambling content's U.S. subsidiary, NetEnt Americas, has gained a license to supply iGaming content to the Canadian province, British Columbia (B.C.).

Approval was granted by the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB), B.C.'s gaming regulator, and will allow the software developer to supply its first-rate content to British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), the only licensed gaming and lottery operator in the province.

The Canadian gambling market is regulated via separate licensing systems throughout the country. British Columbia is the nation's third largest province by population with over 4 million inhabitants. The revenues of the BCLC (a Crown corporation owned by the province), go towards supporting communities, education and healthcare within the province.

President and CEO of NetEnt, Per Eriksson, commented on the new license and said that, "I am very pleased that we have reached yet another important milestone in our expansion on regulated markets." He added, that "entering the province of British Columbia in Canada is another important step for us”

Eriksson stated that NetEnt has the largest presence on regulated markets of any other online casino supplier in terms of the number of licenses and certifications that it holds.
