Women in Gaming 2017 Awards – Winners Announced

The 8th annual Women in Gaming (WIG) Diversity awards took place this past Friday on 12th May, 2017. The event, which was held at the beautiful Savoy Hotel in London, was a bright and lively success, awarding 16 incredible women for their superb contributions toward the business success of the prestigious gaming companies who employ them.

When asked how the evening went, many of the women who were interviewed were thrilled with the night's festivities. One woman said that "Tonight has been really, really good and it makes you realize how special women are in the industry, even though it's not really a feminine industry."

That's one of the main reasons why WIG is such a noteworthy and important event: to recognize the talented women and their achievement in an industry that for years has been predominantly male.

For some of these award winners, this wasn't the first time they were honored with a WIG trophy. For instance, Lydia Barbara won the Star of the Future award in 2015. Last year, VegasMaster had the privilege of interviewing Barbara and other past winners of the prestigious WIG awards.

Unique interviews with WIG Winners

VegasMaster's special multi-interview with top female leaders in the gaming industry was conducted in honor of 2016's International Women's Day. We asked four incredible women - Ebba Arnred, Lydia Barbara, Mel Camilleri, and Caroline Klytseroff - five interesting questions and were very impressed with what they had to share.

For instance, when asked "Who or what inspires you and why?", Barbara had this to share: "Through my years in the industry, I have found that I enjoy taking an idea and turning it into something tangible. I love building things and making them successful."
